Originally from Burgundy, Gamay found its home in Beaujolais, where it has flourished for centuries. Certain similarities between the granite soils of its preferred region and those of the Valais explain the ease with which this grape variety has integrated into Alpine vineyards.

Winemaking

A slow maceration lasting three to four weeks gently extracts the tannins responsible for the color and structure of this red wine. A six-to-eight-month ageing period in vats, during which the second fermentation takes place, concludes the elaboration of this specialty.
