In Valais, Muscat was first mentioned in 1535-1536 under the name muscatellum. Its excellent reputation is highlighted in several historical documents from the 17th and 18th centuries.
A unique closed-tank fermentation followed by pressure filtration gives this effervescent a low alcohol content of 5 % vol. and natural sugar of around 50 grams per liter.
