Constellation Simon Berger 2018

The Constellation cru varies its blend from year to year. Each vintage is magnified by the hand of a Swiss artist. The illustration of this Constellation is by Simon Berger, a Swiss glass artist known worldwide for his glass paintings. The vintage was entrusted to him by a jury chaired by Gérard Jugnot, an icon of French cinema.

History

Produced from low-yielding vines selected from the best slopes in central Valais, this blend is made up of Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Winemaking

Carefully controlled maceration for 25 days, followed by 18 months' ageing in mostly new barrels, selected according to the specific characteristics of each grape variety.

Dress

Intense red with purplish-black and purple highlights.

Nose

Ample bouquet characterized by notes of tobacco, fresh leather, black fruit, licorice with hints of spice and roasting.

Mouth

Aromas of small black fruits, subtle notes of spices and toasted oak, supported by firm tannins. Fresh, harmonious finish.

Constellation is the perfect accompaniment to grilled poultry, red meats and cheese platters.
